2021 Harbor Half Marathon Dedicated to Kay Duplichan
In the fall of 2020, we received word that we had lost our beloved Kay Duplichan. Jayne Woodall, Race Director, said “Kay was my biggest cheerleader and supporter and she would always find me after the Harbor Half to thank me and congratulate me on a well planned race.” Kay competed in her first marathon at the age of 41 and ran her last half marathon in her favorite city of Houston at the age of 83. Kay completed over 1000 races from 5k to marathon distance, in the US, Canada, Mexico and England. In 1987, she completed the Boston Marathon in a time of 3:44. Kay will be sorely missed in 2021. To honor Kay’s passion for running and her love of the Harbor Half we will dedicate the 2021 Harbor Half Marathon to Kay Duplichan.
THE ROUTE
The half marathon will take you down through historic areas of the Corpus Christi harbor, across the Harbor Bridge, along Corpus Christi Beach, and up on to the causeway, which will take you out across the Nueces Bay and onto one of the most natural and scenic wetland habitats of our coastline, Sunset Lake Park.
YOU READY?
The Harbor Half is a spectacular Half Marathon, Relay, 5K and 10K. If this is your first time, we know it will be a wonderful new race experience. If you are a returning runner, you know exactly what type of excitement is in store. You won’t want to miss out on this run!
RACE HELP
The Harbor Half Marathon requires the help from many volunteers to ensure the success of the event. If you do not want to participate in the race but would like to give a helping hand, we would like to hear from you.
